The Medicine Hat Tigers are one win away from hoisting the Memorial Cup. The WHL champions went 3-0 in the round-robin and have booked themselves a spot in the Final on Sunday. While there have been many standouts who have helped the Tigers get to this stage, it is safe to say that goaltender Harrison Meneghin has been their MVP so far at the 2025 Memorial Cup.

Meneghin has been dialled in at the 2025 Memorial Cup. After a tough start to the tournament, where he allowed four goals on 24 shots, Meneghin bounced back massively, allowing only two goals on 58 shots in the final two games of the round-robin. Shutting down opponents is nothing new for the Tampa Bay Lightning prospect, but limiting the Moncton Wildcats and the London Knights to a combined two goals shows just how impressive his recent performances have been.

For anyone who regularly watched the WHL, Meneghin's performances are not surprising. After posting a 23-9-2 record during the regular season, the 20-year-old went 14-1 in the post-season and was named WHL Playoff MVP. Ultimately, he has taken his game to another level over the past two months, which also earned him an entry-level contract with the Lightning.

Meneghin's story serves as a valuable reminder that hard work can indeed pay off. He was never drafted into the WHL, yet now has a chance to break a 10-year drought and bring the Memorial Cup back to the West. If Meneghin can keep playing at this high level, there is a good chance that the Tigers will be lifting the historic trophy on Sunday.
