The 2025 WHL Championship Series continues on Tuesday with a heavily anticipated Game 3. After the Spokane Chiefs pulled off an impressive 6- 2 victory in Game 2 over the Medicine Hat Tigers, both teams will be looking to take control of the series on Tuesday. Overall, the atmosphere in Spokane should be electric, as the Chiefs will host their first Championship Series game in over 15 years.

If the Tigers are going to bounce back, they need to generate more offence. Through the first two games, Medicine Hat has 43 combined shots, which is a lower total than they had in Game 3 of the East Final. If the Tigers' offence can explode as they have done throughout the season, it will go a long way in helping them take a 2-1 series lead.

As for Spokane, they need to break the trend of allowing early goals. In both Game 1 and Game 2, the Chiefs allowed a goal in the first minute of the game, which electrified Co-op Place in Medicine Hat. If Spokane can get an early goal themselves, it will send the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena into a frenzy, which would help build some momentum for the Chiefs.

    Players To Watch:

    Rasmus Ekström:

After going pointless in Game 1, Rasmus Ekström rebounded with a goal and an assist in Game 2. The Swedish center has been a key contributor all season and is now up to 14 points in 17 playoff games. If Ekström can once again hit the scoresheet, there is a good chance that Spokane pulls off a victory in Game 3.

    Gavin McKenna:

Game 2 was the first time since early November that Gavin McKenna failed to record a point in a WHL game. All that means is that Game 3 is an opportunity to build what could be another record-setting point streak. Overall, it will not be shocking to see McKenna put forward an impressive performance on Tuesday, as he looks to rebound from what was a difficult performance on Sunday.

    Series Scoring Leaders:

    Berkly Catton: 3 G, 1 A, 4 P
    Shea Van Olm: 1 G, 2 A, 3 P
    Bryce Pickford: 2 G, 2 P
    Cayden Lindstrom: 1 G, 1 A, 2 P
    Mathis Preston: 1 G, 1 A, 2 P

    Game 3:

    Date: May 13, 2025
    Time: 7:00 pm PT
Location: Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena, Spokane, WA
