Monday night, the Tigers took on the Moncton Wildcats in their second game of the tournament. Chances went back and forth, but the black and orange controlled the majority of the game. Wildcats goaltender Mathis Rousseau, as expected, did what he could but could not hold off the pressure long enough.

While not all opportunities were converted, Medicine Hat were all over the ice. A fluid zone control, getting behind the Moncton defenders and driving the net were the keys to success; unfortunately for Liam Ruck, his first goal in a Memorial Cup tournament was called back due to a kicking motion.

As an honorary Player of the Game award, Minnesota Wild prospect Ryder Ritchie lead the way for the Tigers. The first of his two goals on the night was a near tap-in early in the first period, and a laser wrist shot in the second to pad the lead.
