A deep dive into the New York Rangers' WHL prospect pool.
Welcome to this edition of the 2026 WHL Prospect Pools. Throughout the 2026 off-season, we will be looking at current or recently graduated WHLers who have been drafted or signed by NHL clubs. Today's organization is the New York Rangers.
The Rangers have one prospect who played games in the WHL last season. The prospect is defenceman Ben MacBeath, who recently wrapped up his rookie campaign. New York drafted MacBeath in the second round of the 2026 NHL draft, selecting him 64th overall.
As mentioned, the 2025-26 season was MacBeath's first in the WHL. The 18-year-old had no problems producing as the Calgary Hitmen defender recorded 51 points in 67 games. MacBeath has already committed to the NCAA for next year as he will be joining the University of Denver.
