The connection even reaches beyond the players, as current head coach Dennis Williams has a long history with the WHL. Williams was the head coach and GM of the Everett Silvertips for seven seasons before joining Bowling Green State University this year. Williams was not just successful in the WHL but also internationally coached Canada at multiple tournaments, including in 2023 when he was the head coach at the World Juniors.
WHLers committing to Bowling Green State University will be a trend to keep an eye on, not just for this season but in the future. Overall, it is clear that NCAA teams are excited about recruiting WHLers, as over 45 players have committed for next season. Fans should expect more commitment announcements as the season goes on, as there are still some intriguing players who could be NCAA-bound next season.
