The Calgary Hitmen have named Carson Wetsch their captain for the 2024-25 season. Wetsch, who was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in June, has played his entire career with the Hitmen organization. Wetsch will be joined in the leadership group by David Adaszynski, Connor Hvidston, Oliver Tulk, and Ben Kindel, who will all wear A's this year.

Over his 116-game career with Calgary, Wetsch has 36 goals and 73 points. The 18-year-old was also part of Team Canada's Gold Medal winning team at this year's Hlinka Gretzky Cup. A third-round pick by the Sharks, Wetsch has played three WHL games this season, recording a goal and an assist.
