The Detroit Red Wings prospect becomes the 38th captain in Kamloops Blazers history.

The Kamloops Blazers have named Emmitt Finnie their captain for the 2024-25 season. The Detroit Red Wings prospect recently returned to Kamloops and will be the franchise's 38th captain. Finnie will be joined in the leadership group by Ryan Michael, Jordan Keller, and Harrison Brunicke, who will all wear A's this season. 

Finnie has spent his entire WHL career with the Blazers. In 174 career games, he has 28 goals and collected his 100th career point in the second-to-last game of 2023-24. Finnie was also part of Kamloops' Memorial Cup team in 2023, playing all four games in the tournament. After the tournament, Detroit drafted Finnie 201st overall during the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
