    Three of the usual suspects, and one returnee highlight week 16, the most from the WHL so far this season.

    Three of the usual suspects, and one returnee highlight week 16, the most from the WHL so far this season.

    As week 16 gets underway, new teams start to get more and more recognition for their play. Alongside the three staples of the WHL, one Eastern Conference team returns with a vengeance.

    Everett Silvertips (2 --> 2)

    What more can be said about the 'Tips at this point? Everett has been so good as of late, they've been afforded the luxury of trying out Landon DuPont—a 15-year-old defenceman, mind you—in the top six as a right winger. The Silvertips will take on a surging Medicine Hat Tigers on Wednesday night as part of "Wednesday Night in the Dub" presented by the WHL, and it's been shaping up to be one of the marquee matchups of the entire season.

    Spokane Chiefs (8 --> 7)

    While Spokane has cooled off slightly as of late, goaltender Dawson Cowan has not. In his last five starts, the 2005-born netminder is sporting a .928 save percentage including one shutout. Because of this, the Chiefs have one of the better goal differential stats in the WHL at +47.

    Calgary Hitmen (7 --> 8)

    The Hitmen have been rolling in the last few weeks, rocking an 8-1-0-1 record in their last 10 contests and recording at least one point in their last five. In no small contribution, but perhaps underlooked, it's been the Daniel Hauser show in Calgary: since joining the Hitmen, Hauser has recorded a .919 save percentage with a 2.14 goals against average through seven starts (including a 47 save performance against Medicine Hat).

    Medicine Hat Tigers (Unranked --> 9)

    Last but certainly not least, perhaps no team more overdue for a return to this list than the Tigers. Medicine Hat has stormed to the top of the Western Conference, leapfrogging Calgary, and are winners of nine (!) games in a row. Unsurprisingly, superstar forward Gavin McKenna has been doing superstar things, tallying at least one point in his last 22 games (12-37-49 over that stretch) and sits one game away from tying Ben Kindel for this season's record.
