2023 NHL Draftee Lukas Dragicevic is headed to Saskatchewan, along with goaltender Eric Kahl and a draft pick.

Prince Albert Raiders General Manager Curtis Hunt decided he was going to get active on Wednesday and went out big-name shopping. A deal was made sending defenseman Terrell Goldsmith, forward Grady Martin, goaltender Nathan Preston, and a 2025 3rd-round pick to the Tri-City Americans in exchange for defenseman Lukas Dragicevic, goaltender Eric Kahl, and a 2025 7th-round pick.
Dragicevic, the Seattle Kraken's 57th overall selection in the 2023 NHL Draft, donned an "A" last season for the Americans. Despite his production taking a dip from the previous season, he did get three games worth of professional experience with the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Kahl, taking part in his first full WHL season, will look for a team to call home. He played 15 games across four teams in 2023-24, including for three teams in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL).
On the other side, Goldsmith was selected 102nd overall at the 2023 NHL Draft and carries a much different profile to his now-Eastern Conference counterpart. Described as "always looking for contact," the British Columbia native looks to bring a much more physical presence to the Tri-City blue line.
Martin is yet another large addition to the Americans, standing at 6'4"and entering his third season in the WHL. The 18-year-old will look to make an immediate impact with his new team, and behind players like Max Curran (6'3") and Parker Bell (6'5"), that shouldn't be difficult.
Preston is looking for a bounce-back campaign after his first four WHL appearances were statistically less than stellar. Still, he showed promise in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) with a .920 save percentage over 15 games last season.
