The Spokane Chiefs added to their forward group on Thursday, acquiring Sam Oremba from the Regina Pats. In return for the 2005-born players, the Pats received a 2025 fourth-round pick and a 2026 second-round pick. This season, Oremba has skated in ten games, recording three goals and six points.
Initially drafted by the Seattle Thunderbirds in 2020, Oremba was traded to Regina in 2022 for a 2023 second-round pick, a 2024 first-round pick and a 2025 third-round pick. Last season with the Pats, he had 22 goals and 46 points in 66 games. Overall, Oremba has played 212 regular season WHL games, scoring 41 goals while adding 97 points.
The addition of Oremba gives the Chiefs even more depth up front. In 12 games this season, Spokane has posted a record of 8-4-0 while scoring 44 goals. Oremba is projected to make his debut this weekend, with his first game potentially coming Friday night against the Vancouver Giants.
