28 games into their season, Everett sits first in the U.S. Division.

One of the best-kept secrets this season has been the play of the Everett Silvertips. With most of the attention in the West being on teams like Portland, Wenatchee and Prince George, the Silvertips have gone about their business quietly and now sit atop the U.S. Division. Here is a look at their season so far.
One of the reasons behind Everett's success is their play at home. In 14 games at the Angel of the Winds Arena, they are an astounding 11-2-1 and have outscored the opposition 54-33. They are also currently on a six-game home winning streak and have beaten some of the league's best, including Portland, Saskatoon and Prince Albert. They have made their home arena a fortress and one that could carry them to a U.S. Division title.
Focusing on their offence, the Silvertips have seen massive development from Dominik Rymon. The Czechian forward went from 11 points in 18 games last season to 33 points in his first 28 games this year. Not just him but also Teague Patton and Jesse Heslop, who are on track to record career seasons. Add in NHL-drafted players in Ben Hemmerling and Austin Roest and you have a recipe for success. From the first line down to the fourth, this offence is clicking, making them difficult to match up against, especially when Everett has the last change.
Overall, Everett is having success because everyone is buying into the system. It doesn't matter if you are a first-line center or the team's seventh defenceman; every player skates hard, plays physically and understands the importance of doing the little things right. They are a pain to play against and, as mentioned, have quietly developed into one of the best teams in the WHL.
