The Columbus Blue Jackets have selected Jackson Smith 14th overall in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. The 18-year-old was the fifth WHLer selected and the second defender drafted. Listed at 6'4", 198 lbs, Smith had a breakout season in Tri-City and cemented himself as a top prospect in the 2025 class.
The Calgary native is committed to Penn State University for the 2025-26 season. With 54 points in 68 games and an impressive playoff performance, Smith has shown there could be serious top-4 and potentially top pairing upside.
