The Detroit Red Wings have selected Carter Bear 13th overall in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. The 18-year-old was the fourth WHLer selected and the first left-winger drafted. Listed at 6'0", 179 lbs, Bear was a key contributor to the Everett Silvertips this season, which included being part of the team's leadership group.
Bear was unstoppable this season, scoring 40 goals and posting 82 points in 56 games. Unfortunately, his season came to an abrupt end, as he was injured right before the post-season. Bear is a high-end offensive talent with the potential to become a top-six forward at the NHL level.
