The Americans keep on rolling, while Prince George sprung up and Everett fortify their spots.
With week seven in the books, the Canadian Hockey League has released their latest top 10 ranking, this time featuring a new face.
Tri-City Americans (Unranked --> 8)
Making their first appearance on the list this season, the Americans come off an overtime win against the Calgary Hitmen, their eleventh in a row. After just three points in his first five games, Brandon Whynott has gone on a tear, tallying 21 points on a 12-game point streak. Tri-City gears up for their Saskatchewan road trip on Friday starting in Prince Albert, so the team will be tested for the next couple of weeks.
Everett Silvertips (5 --> 5)
Everett, since going on a nine-game run of their own, have cooled off but not by much. Currently sitting at the top of the Western Hockey League standings by a mildly comfortable margin, the Silvertips have nearly been unstoppable. Forwards Tyler Mackenzie and Julien Maze have gotten themselves a twelve and nine-game point streak respectively, collecting 23 and 13 points in those spans.
Prince George Cougars (6 --> 4)
Right when you think the Cougars are about to fall off, they pick themselves right back up. Taking two huge victories on back to back nights against the Vancouver Giants, Prince George are rolling once again. Star forward and Los Angeles Kings prospect Koehn Ziemmer has been torching goaltenders everywhere, potting eleven goals on a five-game streak of his own and being named the WHL's Player of the Week. Second only to Everett in the standings, the Cougars are chasing down the top spot in the league once again.
