Lethbridge Hurricanes coach Matt Anholt sits down with THN to discuss the team's recent success, his relationship with head coach Bill Peters and more.
At the time of recording, Lethbridge was first in the East. That information, mentioned in the video, has since been dated.
Currently in his sixth WHL season, Matt Anholt is part of a Hurricanes group that sits second in the Eastern Conference, and is one of the most dominant teams in the league right now. Despite injuries and illness, Anholt mentioned that the players that have been playing hurt are now filtering back into their regular lineup slots and it has made the team even stronger.
Hailing from Prince Albert, Sask. Matt is the son of WHL coaching journeyman and longtime/current Hurricanes general manager Peter Anholt, who has put together a squad that has taken 12 victories in their first 19 games.
Anholt also discussed the challenges of the Western U.S. road trip, keeping the team energized and ready to play, as well as the mental toll of the road.
As well, the Hurricanes coach spoke highly of the veteran group that leads the team, the presence of the NHL prospect talent and more.
