The Victoria Royals are B.C. Division champions for the second time in franchise history. Victoria's last division championship came during the 2015-16 season when they not only captured the conference championship but were the number one seed in the entire WHL. With the victory, the Royals will enter the 2025 WHL Playoffs as the second seed in the Western Conference, with the team recording at least 90 points for the first time in nine years.

Victoria clinched their division title in style by defeating the Prince George Cougars 6-3 on Friday night. The Cougars were chasing the Royals heading into the game but will finish the season at least two points behind in the standings. The two teams will play their season finale against each other, with that game scheduled for Saturday at 6:00 pm PT.

As for the playoffs, Victoria has built a deep squad that could go on a long run this year. Up front, they are led by Cole Reschny, Kenta Isogai, Brandon Lisowsky and Teydon Trembecky, while their blue line features high-end talent in Justin Kipkie, Nate Misskey and Keaton Verhoeff. The Royals also have one of the top young goaltenders in the WHL in Jayden Kraus, who will be hearing his name called during the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

Victoria will kick off their playoffs on March 28 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Their first-round opponent has not been set, but it most likely will be the Tri-City Americans. Tickets for Games 1 and 2 are on sale and can be purchased here.
