The two top ranked teams in NCAA women's hockey split a weekend series with Wisconsin winning the first game 4-2, and Ohio State bouncing back to take a 3-2 decision in the second.

On Friday night, Ohio State jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals going to Buckeyes veterans Maddi Wheeler and Jenna Buglioni.

Wisconsin however, did not quit. Lacey Eden scored a pair of goals, while Casey O'Brien also scored, before Caroline Harvey potted an empty netter completing the four unanswered goal comeback. Laila Edwards assisted on three of the four goals on the evening.

Two goals from Lacey Eden helped the Wisconsin women's hockey team complete a four-goal comeback to defeat the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes, 4-2, at the OSU Ice Rink Friday.

On Saturday, it was a similar start with Wheeler and Makenna Webster scoring for Ohio State putting them ahead by yet another two-goal spread.

Before the end of the first, Kirsten Simms cut Ohio State's lead in half. After a scoreless second, Kiara Zanon scored a shorthanded marker in the third to reclaim Ohio State's two-goal league. Only 23 seconds later, rookie Maggie Scannell made things interesting scoring for Wisconsin, but Amanda Thiele shut the door in net for Ohio State, who held on for a 3-2 win.

Wisconsin went into the weekend as the top ranked team in NCAA women's hockey followed by Ohio State. Given the weekend result, it's unlikely those rankings will change.
