Emma Pais is one of the top rookies in NCAA hockey this season, and she's only getting better. The 18-year-old notched her third multi-goal game of the season recording both goals in a 2-0 Colgate win over RPI this weekend.

As Colgate women's hockey coach Greg Fargo said, it was another sign Pais' game continues to take strides this season.

"Since Emma got back from break her game has taken another step," said Fargo.

"You're starting to see how she can really take over games like she did today, scoring that big goal. She had a really strong game from start to finish tonight."

Through 32 games this season, Pais has 15 goals and 29 points. They're impressive totals from Pais, who won two U-18 World Championship gold medals as a member of Team Canada prior to joining Colgate.

Last season playing with the London Devilettes in the OWHL, Pais scored 31 goals and 55 points in 36 games.

Facing RPI, Colgate was stifled this weekend firing nearly 50 shots on net before Pais collected a pass from Neena Brick, split the RPI defence and beat the RPI netminder on the glove side.

Her impact on the game was seen on both sides of the ice, including late in the game as Colgate put Pais on the ice to defend their 1-0 lead with RPI's netminder pulled. Pais however, forced a neutral zone turnover and found the empty net for her second goal of the period and game.

Pais was the ECAC Rookie of the Month in November, and has earned Rookie of the Week honors on multiple occasions this season.
