
Nationally ranked programs continued to win with Princeton and Cornell collecting their first victories. In Minnesota, Abbey Murphy put on a show. Here's your full NCAA women's hockey rundown.

Two nationally ranked programs, Cornell and Princeton, opened their 2023-2024 NCAA season this weekend with wins.
Tenth ranked Cornell downed a struggling Penn State roster, who following their 4-1 loss to Cornell now sit at 1-5-1 on the season.
Third year forward Katie Chan opened the scoring with back-to-back goals in the first period. After Penn State's Katelyn Roberts answered, Cornell got second period tallies from Lily Delianedis and Kaitlin Jockims to round out the scoring. Grace Dwyer and Izzy Daniel eached finished with two assists, while rookie Annelies Bergmann made 14 saves for her first NCAA win.
Meanwhile, Princeton opened their campaign with a 6-2 win over Robert Morris. Sarah Fillier scored twice and added an assist while second year center Emerson O'Leary scored a pair. Sarah Paul also had a goal and an assist and Issy Wunder chipped in with three assists.
Through their first six games of the season, the Wisconsin Badgers are averaging nine goals per game outscoring their opponents 54-6. That included a lopsided 9-0 win over Minnesota State in their opening weekend of WCHA action.
Kirsten Simms, Caroline Harvey, and Britta Curl each finished the night with four points, while Casey O'Brien, Lacey Eden, Kelly Gorbatenko, Ava Murphy, and Marianne Picard all had mutli-point efforts.
Vermont is rapidly climbing into the conversation for a higher placement in the national rankings, including following a dominant 6-2 win over St. Lawrence. Second year forward Lara Beecher paced the play for the Catamounts scoring twice and adding an assist, while captain and Team Czechia member Natalie Mylnkova had a goal and two assists. A key to Vermont's strong start has been the play of senior netminder Jessie McPherson who turned aside 32 shots in the game.
Ohio State flexed their muscle beating seventh ranked Minnesota-Duluth 5-2. Defender Hadley Hartmetz had the game of her career scoring a hat trick to pace the Buckeyes. Jenna Buglioni and Sloane Matthews had the other Ohio State goals.
On the other side of the puck, it was the first real NCAA test for rookie netminder Eve Gascon who stopped 31 shots in the loss for Minnesota-Duluth.
Abbey Murphy is taking no prisoners early on in her season as she scored five points in an 8-0 Minnesota win over St. Thomas at the Xcel Energy Center.
Murphy now has 10 points in only three games on her season. The Team USA standout assisted on both goals by linemate Ella Huber in the lopsided win.
