The NCAA women’s hockey First Team and Second Team All-Americans were named this week including several Olympians and players competing in the NCAA final.

The NCAA named their First and Second Team All-Americans this week. The group included five members of USA’s Olympic gold medal winning roster, and five participants in the NCAA national championship game including three from Wisconsin and two from Ohio State.

Harvey Headlines First Team

Patty Kazmaier Award winner Caroline Harvey headlined the First Team All-Americans.

The Wisconsin defender was named NCAA women’s hockey’s top player only a month after being named Olympic MVP.

She was joined by the other top three finalists for the Patty Kazmaier Award in forwards Tessa Janecke (Penn State) and Abbey Murphy (Minnesota).

Emma Peschel of Ohio State was the other First Team All-American defender, while Wisconsin’s Lacey Eden was the other forward, and NCAA Goaltender of the Year Tia Chan was the netminder.

Second Team All-Americans

The top goal scorer in NCAA women’s hockey Kahlen Lamarche headlined the Second Team All-American team. She scored 42 goals this season, most in the nation, for Quinnipiac. The other Second Team headliner was Olympic All-Star Laila Edwards of Wisconsin Joining the duo as Second Team All-Americans were Yale rookie Molly Boyle, Minnesota’s Nelli Laitinen, Ohio State’s Joy Dunne, and Minnesota-Duluth netminder Eve Gascon.
