The Northeastern University Huskies won the 19th Beanpot title in program history at Boston's TD Garden on Tuesday, beating Boston University in overtime in front of 10,633 fans.

The crowd was the largest in Boston women's hockey history.

After a scoreless first period, and looking like the second would end without a goal as well, Skylar Irving broke the deadlock with 35.2 seconds left in the frame.

With time running down and netminder Callie Shanahan pulled, Boston University put on the pressure, and it paid off with only 58.1 on the clock as Catherine Foulem tied the game sending it to overtime.

Overtime didn't last long however as only 27 seconds into the extra frame Irving scored her second of the night, earning MVP honors, to end it for Northeastern.

Northeastern netminder Gwyneth Philips was named the tournament's top goaltender for the second straight year earning the Joe Bertagna Award. In the final she stopped 23 of 24 shots faced.
