Northeastern has welcomed some of the most talented recruits of any NCAA program in recent seasons whether it's Stryker Zablocki or Alessia Baechler.

But the program still needs more. Luckily, they're going to get some of that this season, particularly in the form of Olympic bronze medalist Ivana Wey, who will be a force to be reckoned with for the Huskies from day one. She brings the best Swiss player to North America since Northeastern alumni Alina Muller.

Northeastern is perennially a Hockey East contender, and has become a legitimate developer of PWHL talent this season seeing Jules Constantinople, Jaden Bogden, and Lily Shannon selected.

The 20-year-old is a force. She's a dynamic offensive player who can be bullish around the puck. Wey has a toolkit few possess, and is coming off a season where she was named Switzerland's PostFinance Women's League's MVP and Best Forward. It's a league filled with seasoned pros, including some that have gone direct to the PWHL. Wey had 18 goals and 48 points for EV Zug winning a Swiss title, and also won an Olympic bronze medal with Switzerland.  

The slick forward will take some time to adjust to the NCAA, coming from the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite program. She's represented Czechia three times at the -U-18 World Championships. Great puck skills, can skate at the level, just needs to learn to do it all with less time and space, and against bigger, more physical opponents.

Originally committed to Harvard, Martin brings a 5-foot-10 frame to a different Boston-based campus this Fall. Martin showed solid growth for Shattuck St. Mary's the last four seasons, taking a major step offensively this year.
