Asking any player to fill the departures of Alina Muller, Chloe Aurard, and Maureen Murphy at forward, is a huge undertaking. Northeastern University has one of the best incoming recruiting classes in NCAA women's hockey, and the pressure will be on for these players to make an immediate impact.

While replacing the trio of graduating stars is not realistic, at least immediately, the Northeastern women's hockey incoming class has the skill to excite Huskies fans.

Here's a look at who will be joining the Northeastern Huskies women's hockey team for 2023-2024.

Alexandra Lalonde, F, 2005 - If there's one player with game breaking, life you out of your seat abilities in Northeastern's incoming class, it's Lalonde. She benefitted from the guidance of USA hockey legend Brianna Decker at Shattuck St. Mary's Prep this year scoring 41 points and 88 points in 50 games. Lalonde also was one of USA's top players at the 2022 U-18 women's World Championships. Watch for the California product to emerge as one of the top rookies in the nation.

Peyton Compton, F, 2005 - Lalonde is part one, and Compton is part two of Northeastern's attempt to replace their departing superstars. Another former USA U-18 national team member, Compton is coming from the powerhouse Bishop Kearney Selects program. The Florida product has been touted not only for her on-ice skills, but her off-ice leadership potential.

Mattie Robitzer, G, 2004 - If you're next in line to the throne behind World Champion Aerin Frankel and NCAA Goaltender of the Year Gwyneth Philips, that's something special. Philips will return to the Northeastern crease again this year, but it's her final year, and beyond Philips, the backup role is wide open. Northeastern will need to figure out who is the heir to the crease, and Robitzer could emerge. She was spectacular for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers this season leading them to the national championship finals recording 16 shutouts and a .943 save percentage in 41 games this year.

Cushing Academy captain Rylie Jones and Philadelphia Jr. Flyers forward Mady Cipolla are also slated to join Northeastern this year.

Looking forward to 2024-2025, Tristan Thompson is a bright spot for the future. The six-foot-one defender has been a standout with the OWHL U22 Elite's Nepean Wildcasts, and is a multi-sport talent having won a Canada Games gold playing lacrosse for Team Ontario.
