Ohio State has some of the biggest names in the 2023-2024 women's hockey recruiting class joining the Buckeyes this season.

Departing from the Ohio State women's hockey program are Patty Kazmaier Award winner Sophie Jaques and Team Canada member Emma Maltais, along with other veterans such as Madison Bizal who signed a pro contract with the Minnesota Whitecaps.
If it's possible, the Buckeyes might be fielding a stronger team next year despite those losses. While the rookies coming in are impressive, the biggest impact to Ohio State's roster came through the transfer portal where the Buckeyes picked up Team USA national team members Hannah Bilka and Cayla Barnes. They also added Kelsey King from Minnesota State, Olivia Mobley from Quinnipiac, Stephanie Markowski from Clarkson and Kiara Zanon from Penn State via the portal. The veteran additions are all impact players who will have Ohio State entering as preseason favorites to return to a national championship game.
Here's a look at the rookie additions to the Ohio State Buckeyes women's hockey team for 2023-2024:
Jocelyn Amos, F, 2005 - After captaining Team Canada's gold medal winning U-18 national team, Amos put together a spectacular season with the OWHL's London Devilettes. She finished fifth in provincial scoring recording 30 goals and 55 points in 32 games. Amos has the offensive skills, but also plays a solid two-way game, and brings a lot of energy to the ice, providing pressure to opponents.
Jordan Baxter, F, 2005 - Consistently one of the most threatening offensive talents in Canada over the last two seasons, Baxter won a pair of gold medals playing for Canada's U-18 national team. She also won gold with Team British Columbia at the 2023 Canada Winter Games scoring nine points in six games. Baxter's most potent weapon is her shot. The velocity and release point can fool netminders.
Delaney Fleming, F, 2005 - Coming from Shattuck St. Mary's where she scored 32 goals and 55 points for the national champions, Fleming is the final of Ohio State's three headed monster recruiting class up front. She loves to take the puck to the middle of the ice and is not afraid to get to the net to score the dirty goals, not just highlight reel markers which she's also capable of.
Joy Dunne, F, 2005 - Dunne is from one of the best hockey families in the nation and comes to the Buckeyes after captaining USA's U-18 national team this year where she scored six points in five games. Dunne is a big body who plays a strong two-way game. The long time St. Louis Lady Blues standout will be another among a strong incoming class.
Blueliner Maria Roth from Shattuck St. Mary's is also committed to the Buckeyes for this season. The nine players joining Ohio State this season will keep the Buckeyes, who lost to Wisconsin in the NCAA women's hockey national championship game last season contending again this year.
Genevieve Klein, Josie St. Martin, and Grace McCoshen will join Ohio State for 2024-2025.
