Team Czechia will continue to be guided by Carla MacLeod for the next three seasons as the accomplished coach signed an extension with the national program through the 2026 Olympic Games.

"I really appreciate the trust from Czech hockey," said MacLeod in a Cesky Hokej press release. "I really enjoy working with the women's national team. It's great that we managed to bring home two medals from the last two world championships, but I'm even more happy that we can continue the good work with the girls and try to move the Czech hockey team one step further."

MacLeod has helped guide Czechia to the nation's best two finishes ever in the women's World Championship winning back-to-back bronze medals in 2022 and 2023.

As a player MacLeod won Olympic and World Championship gold with Team Canada earning all-star honors at both event. Czechia will host the 2025 World Championships, with MacLeod's hiring providing the nation stability through the event.
