Flavor Flav's 'SHE Weekend' started as an attempt to rectify the mockery delivered by USA's men's hockey team and the President directed at USA's gold medal winning women's hockey team...it has grown into much more.

When the women's sports world descends on Las Vegas for Flavor Flav's 'SHE Weekend' from July 16–19, the women's hockey community is expected to be there.

Flavor Flav is a Rock  N Roll Hall of Fame inductee for his career as a musician, but as Forbes wrote, "over the past two years, Flav has quietly been building a different reputation as an advocate for equity in women's sports."

Following USA's men's hockey team mocking the women's hockey team after both won gold at the 2026 Olympics alongside President Donald Trump, it wasn't the individuals who made women's hockey the butt of their joke who stepped up to make the situation better, it was Flavor Flav.

"First, massive congratulations on the gold!! We saw the story about the men’s invite to the White House, and the not-quite invite for the women’s team," Flavor Flav wrote following the incident.

"If the team wants a real celebration and invite, I’ll host them in Las Vegas. Do some nice dinners and shows and good times. I think a lot of other celebrities like myself need to step up to the plate and sponsor some of these Olympic teams, because these Olympians are out there busting their butts to make us look good. After the sport has been played, people have a tendency to forget about the sport until it’s played again. I want this sport to stick in your mind after the season is over."

From that moment on, precipitated by USA's women's hockey team, and the disrespect they were shown by USA's men's hockey team and President Donald Trump, Flavor Flav's support for women's hockey and women's sport skyrocketed to new levels.

The event in Las Vegas comes little over a month after Las Vegas was announced as a site for a PWHL expansion team for the 2026-27 season. Professional women's hockey is coming to Nevada, and some of the best in the world might be there in July for 'SHE Weekend.'

The weekend will include a parade down the Las Vegas strip, concerts, and celebrations honoring women's Olympians.

And it could become an annual event.

"I would like to do it every year," Flavor Flav told Forbes. "This year will determine what we can do in the future."
