Shannon Pearson, a 2007 born forward from Calgary, is an emerging prospect playing with Edge School in the CSSHL.
Around the net, Shannon Pearson is one of the more dangerous players in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL).
Last year with the Edge School Mountaineers, Pearson scored 18 goals and 31 points in 30 games. This season, moving into her final two seasons of high school prep hockey, Pearson will be heavily counted on to increase those numbers again.
According to her Edge coach, Pearson combines unique hockey IQ and an ability to make those around her better.
"Shannon is a highly skilled well rounded player with a strong IQ of the game," said Edge School women's hockey head coach Annette Jensen. "She is a great teammate that elevates players around her."
It's this combination, as well as her scoring capabilities that Jensen believes makes Pearson a college recruitment target.
"What sets her a part is her ability and drive to score, she is gifted around the net through her perseverance to find a way to score," said Jensen. "Shannon's coachable is one of her greatest strengths, as she can implement anything you ask immediately."
Alongside Pearson, Edge's lone 2008 born prospect from last season, Jennifer Keller, is another player to watch in the CSSHL. The duo have formed unique chemistry on the ice.
Edge School continues to produce top women's hockey talent with alumni including Brooke Disher, Sarah Wozniewicz, and Kelly Murray. Edge's men's program has also been highly successful advancing close to a dozen players to the NHL.
