The PWHL Draft declaration period is closed. This year's new group, and some players re-entering the draft for a second time, will soon see their names set forth to be selected in the 2025 PWHL Draft.

The Draft, which will take place June 24 in Ottawa, will usher in a new wave of players, including the foundation for two expansion teams in Vancouver and Seattle.

While most of the focus for the PWHL's growing player pool will be on the 2025 PWHL Draft, there's another pool of players available to the league. This pool comes in two parts, players who have served as reserves or previously played in the league makes a large group of who can be expected to return. Some teams however, might mine deeper looking for the right player. There's a second, larger group of players eligible to enter the PWHL as free agents. This group includes all players who previously declared for the PWHL Draft and went unselected.

Originally, it was stated that players needed to enter the PWHL Draft twice before they could become free agents in the league. That has since been clarified. According to the PWHL, any player who has declared for the PWHL Draft and been considered eligible for the draft by the league is now eligible to enter the league as a free agent. They can declare for up to two drafts, or they can test the free agent market as camp invites. Here's the long list of players who were on active rosters last year in Europe, Asia, and North America, who are considered eligible to sign in the PWHL.

**Some of these players are currently under contract in Europe for next season but could join the league if they have an out-clause or when their year ends.
