Montreal Victoire forward Abby Roque will not play tonight as she has been assessed a one game suspension from the PWHL's Player Safety Committee.

The PWHL has handed down a one game suspension to Montreal Victoire forward Abby Roque for her check to the head of Minnesota's Abby Boreen.

Roque was assessed a five minute match penalty for a check to the head at 4:06 of the third period against the Vancouver Goldeneyes on Sunday.

According to the PWHL Player Safety Committee, they "determined that Roque took a poor angle of approach to deliver a hit on an unsuspecting player, making her opponent’s head the main point of contact on a play where such contact to the head was avoidable."

This is Roque's first career fine or suspension in the PWHL.

It's the second time in as many weeks that the PWHL has handed out supplementary discpline for a check to the head after the league suspended Seattle Torrent defender Aneta Tejralova two games for a hit to Sarah Fillier.
