The Boston Fleet trailed 3-0 heading into the third against the Montreal Victoire. A regulation Montreal win would have given the Victoire sole possession of first overall in the PWHL. Instead, Boston erased the deficit and won in overtime 4-3.

Boston opened their comeback at 6:01 of the third period as Hadley Hartmetz drove a puck to the net, which popped out to a waiting Loren Gabel. Gabel scored her first of the season after signing with the Fleet in the days leading up to the 2026 Olympics.

Just over a minute and a half later, Boston had a glorious opportunity to continue their comeback with a  five minute powerplay off an illegal hit by Montreal's Maggie Flaherty who checked Jill Saulnier knocking her out of the game. Montreal however, killed the penalty and looked like they'd come through Boston's push and were on their way to the win.

With time winding down, Boston pulled Aerin Frankel, and Megan Keller scored on a one timer off a cross ice pass from Haley Winn to pull Boston within one with 2:34 remaining in the game.

Then, with only 14.8 seconds on the clock, Susanna Tapani tied it for the Fleet sending the game to overtime.

In overtime, Ella Huber took the puck in the high slot and fired a wrist shot that beat Ann-Renee Desbiens under her glove to complete the comeback.

Montreal coach Kori Cheverie discusses the loss postgame

Boston's four unanswered goals kept the Fleet in first place in the PWHL extending their lead over Montreal, and it also ended Montreal's undefeated streak on home ice this season.

Abby Roque had a goal and two assists in the loss for Montreal, while Marie-Philip Poulin and Kati Tabin had the other Montreal goals.

Poulin left the game in the first period after appearing to re-injure her right knee on a hit from Shay Maloney. Poulin missed two Olympic games and the first game back from the break for Montreal with injury.
