Taylor Girard, who spent the past two seasons starring for the PHF's Connecticut Whale, will spend her next two seasons with PWHL Boston after signing a two-year deal with the team.
PWHL Boston has signed PHF star Taylor Girard to a two-year contract the team announced.
Girard, 25, was the 2022 PHF Newcomer of the Year playing for the Connecticut Whale. In two seasons in the league, Girard has scored more than a point per game in each campaign, including 28 points in 24 games last year for the Whale.
“I am honored and grateful to be joining Boston for the inaugural PWHL season," said Girard. "Boston is an awesome city with the best fans! I’m excited to put the jersey on and get to work with this team!”
Girard, a Quinnipiac alumni, was drafted 51st overall by Boston in the 2023 PWHL Draft.
“I've had the privilege of witnessing Taylor's game evolve since she transferred to Quinnipiac, and I've been consistently impressed by the impact she's had on every team she's played for," said Boston GM Danielle Marmer. "In college, she displayed dynamic and effortless skating, but during her time in the professional game, she really honed her playmaking and finishing abilities, making her an incredibly dangerous and exciting player. Signing Taylor not only adds speed but also an offensive threat to our lineup.”
Girard had re-signed with the Whale, inking a $110,000 deal for next season prior to the PHF's acquisition.
