Caroline Harvey is a generational talent, who is arguably the best player on the planet. She's now, after being selected first overall in the 2026 PWHL Draft, a member of the Vancouver Goldeneyes.

The Vancouver Goldeneyes selected Caroline Harvey first overall at the 2026 PWHL Draft. The Goldeneyes earned the chance to select Harvey, considered a generational talent, by winning the first overall pick using the PWHL's Gold Plan.

Harvey, 23, won the Patty Kazmaier Award this season as the best player in NCAA women's hockey's. She was also named the Best Defender and MVP at the 2026 Olympics leading USA to gold.

With Wisconsin, Harvey scored 18 goals and 64 points in 33 games.

The 5-foot-8, New Hampshire product is also a three-time World Championship All-Star and two-time Best Defender. As a member of Team USA, Harvey has an Olympic gold and silver, two World Championship gold and three silver, and a U-18 World Championship gold and silver.

Earlier in the day ahead of her selection as the first overall pick in the PWHL Draft, Harvey was named the IIHF Female Player of the Year for 2026.

Harvey is a dynamic two-way defender who combines elite mobility, physicality, and an offensive skill set that is rare on the blueline.

Vancouver will add Harvey to their backend, which already includes one of the league's best offensive defenders in Sophie Jaques. The status of Vancouver's other national team blueliner, Claire Thompson, is unknown, which makes the addition of Harvey all-the-more valuable.
