PWHL Boston has signed long time USA national team member Gigi Marvin who is returning to hockey after a season away. The team also signed three other players following the preseason.

While she was announced to Boston's roster earlier this month, it became official today as PWHL Boston signed long time USA national team member Gigi Marvin to a one-year contract.

Marvin, 36, decided early on following the league's announcement that she'd like to attempt a comeback.

"I was like, it would be really fun to come back and play hockey," Marvin told The Hockey News. "I just had that desire...I love the game."

Marvin is a five-time World Championship gold medalist and also won an Olympic gold medal as a member of Team USA. Along with her gold medals, Marvin has two Olympic and two World silver medals. It's a resume that puts her among the most decorated players in USA Hockey history.

Prior to taking last season off, Marvin spent three seasons touring with the PWPHPA. Before that, Marvin played with the NWHL's Boston Pride, CWHL's Boston Blades, and one season with the WWHL's Minnesota Whitecaps following her NCAA career at the University of Minnesota. In the NWHL with the Pride, Marvin twice led the league in scoring by a defender, and was named the NWHL's Defender of the Year in 2016.

While she spent the majority her career playing defense, Marvin is slotted into a forward position with PWHL Boston, but will certainly play multiple positions. At the Preseason Camp in Utica, Boston often deployed Marvin as a defender on the powerplay.

Wenczkowski, Morin and Kronish Also Sign

Following the PWHL's Preseason Camp in Utica, Boston inked Taylor Wenczkowski, Sidney Morin, and Cami Kronish to one-year deals.

Wenczkowski was a free agent invite spending recent seasons with the PHF's Boston Pride where she was consistently one of the league's top performers in the face-off circle.

Morin was claimed off waivers from PWHL Minnesota following the preseason. The former Olympic gold medalist with Team USA was drafted by Minnesota, but could not come to a contract agreement.

Kronish won a national championship last year backstopping Wisconsin. She'll serve as Boston's third goaltender.
