Fillier Final Holdout Among PWHL's Top Picks

Throughout the summer, talks had not progressed between Fillier's team and the New York Sirens, resulting in the Canadian national team star standing as the final holdout from the PWHL Draft's opening rounds with a month and a half remaining before teams hit the ice. 

Last season Fillier played for Princeton in the NCAA scoring 30 goals and 43 points in 29 games.

Prior to the Draft, the PWHL's Hockey Operations Department referred to Fillier as "A generational player with change of pace skating that makes her difficult to defend. Her game sense makes her a threat to create scoring in a variety of ways and will upgrade a team’s powerplay immediately.”

The 24-year-old has represented Canada at four World Championships winning three gold medals, and was a member of Canada's 2022 Olympic gold medal winning team.
