Jade Downie-Landry is the first PHF alumni to sign a contract in the new PWHL inking a one-year deal with New York.

Jade Downie-Landry's name will go down in history as the first PHF alumni to sign in the new PWHL after she agreed to a one-year deal with PWHL New York.
Downie-Landry, 28, was a professional rookie last season leading the PHF's Montreal Force in scoring with 23 points in 24 games.
New York selected Downie-Landry, who played in the PHF All-Star game last season, 52nd overall in the PWHL draft this year.
“We're proud to finalize an agreement with Jade Downie-Landry, a forward whose zeal and tenacity fans will cherish every game night," said New York GM Pascal Daoust. "We're excited to infuse her offensive flair and passion into our top-tier roster.”
In her final season of USports hockey, Downie-Landry was named an All-Canadian after recording 27 points in only 15 games with McGill University. As a lifelong resident of Quebec, the move to New York will be new experience for Downie-Landry.
“As a lifelong Quebecer, I am excited for the adventure that awaits me in New York," she said. "I cannot wait to meet all of my new teammates and staff in person and become a part of the Tri-State hockey community. I want to thank my family, friends, and loved ones for supporting me throughout my hockey career - it means the world to me. See you soon PWHL fans, and allez New York!”
