Jenna Buglioni's name will go down in history as the first ever player drafted by PWHL Seattle. The Ohio State captain is from the Pacific Northwest. Born in Port Moody, British Columbia, and playing her minor hockey for the Greater Vancouver Comets, Buglioni is set to be a big part of the growth of the game in the region.

Buglioni was the final pick in the first round, 8th overall, by Seattle in the 2025 PWHL Draft.

"It's really awesome to be the first pick for Seattle, you know a new team. It's very exciting," said Bulgioni following the draft. "Seattle is only two and a half hours from my hometown, so it's going to be good to be back on the West Coast. I'm super excited for that, and just to be in the pro league is such an honor. I mean, I've worked a long time for this, but it just doesn't feel real, and I can't wait to get there and get started in November."

Last season with Ohio State Buglioni scored 17 goals and 42 points in 38 games. She also helped the Buckeyes win two national titles in her time at the NCAA level. While she's not the biggest in stature, Bulgioni plays big and wants to have a sizeable on ice impact in Seattle.

"I might be small in stature, but I play like I'm six-feet, and I don't shy away from the gritty areas," she said. "You can expect me to play hard every game, and to be someone that plays 200 feet has a hard, and good IQ."

As for women's hockey in the Pacific Northwest, Buglioni is excited to be part of the growth in the region she grew up in.

"I mean, when the League started, I think the West Coast was itching for their opportunity to get a team," said Buglioni. "I mean, you see it in the Takeover tour, how how successful it was, and how many people have wanted to be a part of it, and I think there's so much excitement for me just...to be able to play in Climate Pledge, Arena and see all the fans that are going to be there. I know it's going to be rocking, and I'm just excited because it's a really good opportunity. Hockey is growing tremendously on the West Coast, and I'm just proud to be a part of keeping that growth going."
