Micah Zandee-Hart has not appeared in a game since the 2023 World Championships last April. Since then the defender has been recovering from a long-term injury.

In the offseason, Zandee-Hart became one of PWHL New York's initial three contracts. Also signing at the time were USA national team members Abby Roque and Alex Carpenter.

In the days leading up to the PWHL season, New York announced Zandee-Hart as the team's inaugural captain at an event in Manhattan's Rockefeller Square.

Zandee-Hart is right on time for her return as initial expectations expressed by PWHL New York general manager Pascal Daoust stated Zandee-Hart would return in late January, or at latest the opening week of February.

Zandee-Hart, 27, was the only national team member to sign with a team not in her home country in the initial free agency period. The British Columbia product, however, has strong ties to the state of New York having played her NCAA hockey with Cornell, located in Ithaca, New York. Zandee-Hart has both Olympic and World Championship gold to her resume, and captained both Canada's U-18 national team and Cornell. She had three assists in 20 PWHPA games this season with Team Sonnet, and has eight assists in 28 career international games for Canada.

She'll make her season debut for PWHL New York today against Boston in Lowell, Massachusetts.
