It appears the PWHL's newest teams out west are continuing to load up.

After picking and signing 12 players in the initial stage of the PWHL's expansion process, PWHL Vancouver and general manager Cara Gardner Morey has already made significant noise on the opening day of free agency.

According to sources, Vancouver has signed Tereza Vanisova, Hannah Miller, and is reportedly close to signing Michela Cava as well.

They represent the 6th, 8th, and 14th leading scorers in the PWHL last season. It gives Vancouver six members of last year's top 20 in league scoring, with a likely seventh had Sarah Nurse played a full season without injury.

Vanisova finished second in PWHL goal scoring last season, notching 15 goals in 30 games with the Ottawa Charge. Vanisova also represents Czechia internationally.

Miller, who played for the Toronto Sceptres is a Vancouver native. She recorded 24 points in 29 games for Toronto, and was named to Team Canada for the IIHF World Championships before being deemed ineligible by the IIHF.

Cava won back-to-back Walter Cup titles with Minnesota scoring 19 points in 30 games this season. She's won five straight championships in four different leagues.

The signings give Vancouver Miller, Vanisova, Cava, Sarah Nurse, Jennifer Gardiner, Izzy Daniel, Brooke McQuigge, Denisa Krizova, Izzy Daniel, and Gabby Rosenthal up front.

    More to come.
