The Montréal Victoire have placed captain Marie-Philip Poulin on long-term injured reserve. The move was made retroactive to March 15.
Poulin has struggled with injury since taking a hit in the preliminary round of the 2026 Olympics while representing Canada. She appeared to re-injure her knee March 15 taking a hit against the Boston Fleet that saw her leave the game and not return.
Poulin will be eligible to return to Montreal's roster April 5.
To maintain their 23 player roster, the Montreal Victoire signed Team Italy captain and 5-foot-10 defender Nadia Mattivi. Mattivi became a PWHL free agent this week after the 25-year-old finished her season in Sweden with Luleå HF.
The former Boston University captain had 23 points in 22 regular season games this season for Luleå HF. She was the 2025 SDHL Defender of the Year as a rookie.
“Nadia is coming off an excellent season in Sweden and also performed very well at Milano-Cortina, and we are happy to have her join our team,” said Victoire General Manager Danièle Sauvageau, who knows the newcomer well as general manager of the Italian National Women’s Team.
Mattivi joined Montreal this week in Minnesota as the Victoire prepare for a Wednesday night match up against the Minnesota Frost before the Victoire travel to Detroit for PWHL Takeover Tour activities Friday, and game Saturday against the New York Sirens.
