The Walter Cup champion Montreal Victoire have re-signed a pair of veteran forwards bringing back Jade Downie-Landry and Alexandra Labelle.
The Montréal Victoire have re-signed forwards Jade Downie-Landry and Alexandra Labelle. Downie Landry agreed to a two-year deal, while Labelle signed a one-year contract with Montreal.
Last season Downie-Landry joined Montreal via free agency from New York missing the start of the season due to injury. She scored two goals in 23 games with Montreal. The 30-year-old from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu product appeared in three playoff games for the Victoire en route to a Walter Cup.
Labelle had four assists in 28 games with the Victoire last year, while winning 55.2% of her faceoffs.
The Victoire currently have 13 players under contract for the upcoming season including Downie-Landry and Labelle with fellow forwards Marie-Philip Poulin, Laura Stacey, Lina Ljungblom, Abby Roque, Catherine Dubois and Kaitlin Willoughby, defenders Maggie Flaherty, Kati Tabin, Nadia Mattivi and Jessica DiGirolamo, as well as goaltender Ann-Renée Desbiens.
