Finnish legend Michelle Karvinen is staying in the PWHL, signing a one-year contract with the Montreal Victoire after spending last season with the Vancouver Goldeneyes.
The Montréal Victoire have added another veteran to their forward group signing Finnish Olympian Michelle Karvinen to a one-year contract.
Karvinen, 36, scored three goals and nine points in 30 games last season with the Vancouver Goldeneyes who selected her seventh overall in the 2025 PWHL Draft.
Karvinen joins a Montreal forward group that also added Jessie Eldridge, Emma Maltais, and retained Abby Roque this offseason. Montreal won the 2026 Walter Cup.
Internationally, Karvinen is a five-time Olympian winning three Olympic bronze medals. She also has eight World Championship medals after representing Finland at 12 tournaments. In April, Karvinen took over as Finland's all-time leading scorer at the World Championships while captaining her nation.
Prior to the PWHL, Karvinen played in the SDHL with Frolunda.
The team also selected Finnish star Petra Nieminen in the 2026 PWHL Draft.
Montreal can only sign one more player heading into training camp. Their current forward group includes Karvinen, Eldridge, Maltais, Marie-Philip Poulin, Laura Stacey, Lina Ljungblom, Abby Roque, Jade Downie-Landry, Alexandra Labelle, Catherine Dubois and Kaitlin Willoughby.
