PWHL Ottawa has signed Gabbie Hughes, a player they believe could be a star in the league this season.
PWHL Ottawa has signed fourth round draft pick Gabbie Hughes, a player Ottawa believes can be one of the next stars of the league.
Hughes made her USA senior national team debut this year at the World Championships helping the Americans win gold.
"Gabbie is one of the great young players in this league and we are excited to watch her game grow to new heights in Ottawa," said Ottawa GM Mike Hirshfeld.
"We believe she has a strong chance to be one of the best forwards in the league this year."
Hughes spent the past five seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She scored 214 points in 165 games, including as captain last season.
