The PWHL and Scripps Sports have reached a broadcast deal, marking the league's first season-long national television package.

On Wednesday, the PWHL announced a new partnership with Scripps Sports to broadcast games across the United States for the first time, season-long, featuring three national broadcast windows each week.

“A season-long national television presence in the U.S. is something we’ve been working toward and represents a significant step in our continued growth as a league,” said PWHL Executive Vice President of Business Operations, Amy Scheer, via release. “Scripps continues to be a committed partner in shining a spotlight on women’s sports, and for the first time, our American fans will have the opportunity to follow the league on national television throughout an entire season, making the PWHL more accessible than ever before.”

Included in this deal, Scripps Sports will produce and air a "Game of the Week" which will broadcast on ION, which "is available over-the-air, across pay television, connected TV platforms and on streaming services, reaching more than 128 million households nationally," according to the league release.

This agreement builds off the partnership established between the two last season, which saw Scripps Sports and ION airing the Takeover Tour game between the Montreal Victoire and New York Sirens.

“Women’s sports is a cornerstone of our mission to create meaningful connections between communities and the sports and teams they love,” said Brian Lawlor, president of Scripps Sports via release. “This partnership further demonstrates ION as the premier destination for women’s sports, where athletes can showcase their talents on the biggest stage and fans can discover their next favorite team.”

Games will continue to be available to US fans and fans worldwide outside Canada via the league's official YouTube Channel and website.
