
PWHL Detroit has added another Michigan product to their roster signing Shiann Darkangelo to a two-year contract.
PWHL Detroit added their second Michigan product inking forward Shiann Darkangelo to a two-year contract.
Darkangelo, who hails from of Brighton, Michigan is the first player added in Phase 4 of the PWHL expansion player distribution process.
Darkangelo joins her fourth PWHL team opening her career with Boston, before joining the Ottawa Charge via trade. She then signed with the Montreal Victoire where she wo a Walter Cup this season. Darkangelo was under contract in Montreal, but will now make the move to her home state in Detroit.
In 2024-25 with Ottawa, Darkagelo scored a career high 17 points in 29 games. Last season her production dropped to eight points in 30 games with Montreal.
A product of the Little Caesars program in Detroit in her youth, Darkangelo captained the Toronto Six to an Isobel Cup title in the PHF's final season.
Internationally Darkangelo owns a World Championship gold medal represented Team USA at the 2016 World Championships.
Detroit now has nine of ten players signed that the team is required to have by the end of Phase 4. Darkangelo joins fellow Michigan product Taylor Girard, Hannah Bilka, Britta Curl-Salemme, Daryl Watts, and will soon be joined by Hilary Knight up front.
Detroit's blueline includes Cayla Barnes and Sydney Bard.
