A veteran on the international scene and in Europe's top leagues, Austria's Anna Meixner will be an offensive addition to a PWHL roster next year.

Anna Meixner is a veteran who can step into the PWHL right now. In the traditional sense, adding a player like Meixner is nearly impossible through a draft, but with the PWHL opening their doors to Europeans, Meixner will look to make an immediate impact in the world's top league next season.
Meixner has excellent speed, is a deceptive skater and puck handler, and has a knack for the net. She has excellent eye hand coordination when it comes to deflecting and re-directing pucks on net, and is shifty in her own puckhandling, including in adjusting her release to deceive goaltenders.
The Austrian captain and former SDHL MVP is motivated to step into the PWHL, a league she's been watching all season.
"I think competing against and playing with the best players in the world, that would just be a dream come true for me," Meixner told The Hockey News.
"It's such a cool thing, I've followed it from the start, playing in front of that big audience with the best players in the world, to me it would be an absolute honor to be a part of it," she continued.
Meixner has the experience and leadership, a desire to grow the global game, and an ability to play at the PWHL's pace.
She had an injury shortened campaign this year in the SDHL scoring 24 points in 22 games for Brynas before returning in top form to join Austria's national team as captain at the 2024 Division 1A World Championships.
Wherever she ends up, Meixner will be a player to watch in the PWHL next season.
