Toronto forward Jess Jones, a veteran of 12 seasons of professional hockey has announced her retirement from the sport of hockey.

Toronto Sceptres forward Jess Jones announced her retirement on social media, ending a 12 year professional career.

The 34-year-old appeared in five regular season and two playoff games for PWHL Toronto last season, serving the bulk of the season as a reserve with the team.

The Picton, Ontario product played her minor hockey with the Whitby Wolves, where she also won silver at the U-18 level with Canada at the U-18 World Championships. Following minor hockey, Jones spent four seasons playing for the Mercyhurst Lakers.

She jumped to the pro level in the EWHL playing in Belarus, before spending five seasons in the CWHL with the Brampton Thunder, including leading the CWHL in scoring and winning the Angela James Bowl in 2016-2017 when she recorded 37 points in 24 games.

Jones also played one season in the NWHL with the Buffalo Beauts.

Following her time in the CWHL and NWHL, Jones spent four seasons with the PWHPA before the launch of the PWHL.
