
Toronto Sceptres draft pick Noemi Neubauerova has signed a temporary contract to open the season in Switzerland with EV Zug ahead of Toronto's training camp.
Toronto Sceptres draft pick Noemi Neubauerova has signed a contract EV Zug in Switzerland's PostFinance Women's League. She'll play in Switzerland until the end of October when Neubauerova will return to North America with the intention on making Toronto's roster out of training camp.
"It's a win-win situation for both. Noemi will bring a breath of fresh air and new energy to our team and she will get match practice until she goes to North America," said Daniela Diaz, Head Coach EVZ Women's Team in a team news release.
"Both the young and the experienced players can benefit from her experience."
Neubauerova, a physical two-way forward was picked 30th overall by the Toronto Sceptres in the 2024 PWHL Draft.
She's also a member of Czechia's senior national team helping them to a pair of World Championship bronze medals and appearing in her first Olympic Games in 2022.
Last season Neubauerova played in the SDHL scoring 19 points in 36 games for Brynas. Prior to turning pro, Neubauerova played five seasons in the NCAA with Colgate and Providence.
EV Zug was already one of the favorites to finish atop the PostFinance Women's League this season with Swiss national team players including Lara Stalder, Noemi Ryhner, Ivana Wey, Naemi Herzig, Rahel Enzler, Annic Buchi, and Lena Marie Lutz as well as Austrian national team members Leonie Kutzer and Annika Fazokas.
