Here's what members of each of the PWHL's six teams are saying about the PWHL schedule and anticipation for the 2024-2025 PWHL season.
The PWHL schedule for the 2024-2025 regular season was released this week. Here's a look at what members of each of the PWHL's six teams had to say about the schedule and anticipation for the PWHL's second season.
“There’s a lot to look forward to as we head into season two,” said Boston Fleet General Manager Danielle Marmer. “Each team improved through the draft, raising the overall quality of play across the league, so we know every game will be a battle. I imagine our team is especially excited for our first meeting with Minnesota. And, of course, the Boston-Montréal rivalry lived up to the hype after last year’s intense playoff series. Last season, the playoff picture came down to the final game of the regular season, so there isn’t a game on this schedule we can afford to overlook. We have some unfinished business to attend to.”
“There’s a lot of excitement in our group around announcing our upcoming schedule,” said Boston Fleet Head Coach Courtney Kessel. “As last season progressed, we felt the investment from our fans, so today is not only exciting for us, but also for them. We’re all eager to get back to the rink and pick up where we left off.”
“I’m itching to get the back to Boston and get the season going,” said Boston Fleet forward Jamie Lee Rattray. “I feel like our group really found a way to come together and play the right way as the year went on last season. Looking forward to hitting the ground running with a phenomenal group of people.”
“With the schedule set, we’re eager to get to work,” said Sirens Head Coach Greg Fargo. “It has been clearly established that this league requires us to compete at the highest level every night and I am certain that season two will bring out the best in our team. There’s a lot of talent and energy in this group, and I’m confident we’ll give our New York Sirens fans a season to cheer for and be proud of.”
“Missing out on the playoffs in year one lit a fire in us going into this off season,” said Sirens Captain Micah Zandee-Hart. “We know this group has more to give and with some new faces in our lineup, we’re ready to come out of the starting gates in full force. We’re thrilled to call Prudential Center home, and this team is committed to giving Sirens fans a lot to cheer for this season.”
“We are excited to share the schedule ahead of the 2024-25 season and for fans to mark their favourite matchups,” remarked General Manager Gina Kingsbury. “The ice is in at Coca-Cola Coliseum, and we cannot wait to be back on November 30th to kick off the second season of the PWHL and our quest for the Walter Cup.”
“Looking forward to kicking off Season 2 and welcoming our fans to our new home, Coca-Cola Coliseum,” shared alternate captain Renata Fast. “The excitement has been building all summer, and we can’t wait to start competing to bring the Walter Cup to Toronto."
"I’m beyond excited to learn about the schedule release," said Ottawa’s own Rebecca Leslie, who signed as a free agent after playing with Toronto last season. “Being from Ottawa and getting a chance to play in my hometown in front of friends and family is a dream come true. I can’t wait for our team to bring the energy back to TD Place. I felt it first-hand last season with Toronto. The fans have been incredible here since I joined the league. As a new member of the team, I’ve been welcomed with open arms here and it’s going to be sweet to play our first home game against Toronto.”
“Fans have been asking about the schedule and we’re excited that it’s finally here,” said General Manager Mike Hirshfeld. “We had the best fans in the league last year and it will be a blast to play in front of a packed house again this season.”
“We are counting the days until we get to be reunited with our fans! Our crowd was a huge advantage for us last season, and knowing the dates that we will get to see them, gets us even more excited for the start of the new season. We created many beautiful memories last season, and we plan on making many more in 2024-25,” declared Victoire Head Coach Kori Cheverie.
“It will be so exciting to see this team hit the ice for the first time as the Minnesota Frost in December,” said Frost General Manager Melissa Caruso. “The bar has been set high for our returning core and new skaters as we get ready to defend the Walter Cup. I'm looking forward to seeing the State of Hockey turn up at the Xcel Energy Center this season and all the great fans throughout the league as we continue to grow the PWHL - we are all excited to see what season two brings!”
“Every team in the league got better in the off-season,” said Frost Head Coach Ken Klee. “That makes defending our title that much harder. It’s great to see the path we’re going to take, and I can’t wait to get back to Xcel Energy Center in front of our fans on December 1."
