The San Jose Barracuda announced they have granted forward Andrew Poturalski's request to be released from his contract or the 2025-26 season so he can pursue an opportunity outside of the AHL and North America.
Poturalski led the AHL in scoring with 73 points in 59 games and won the Les Cunningham Award as AHL MVP for the 2024-25 season. He led the league in scoring in 2020-21 and 2021-22.
The 31-year-old was named to the AHL First All-Star Team this season for the second time, the fourth total postseason All-Star selection of his career.
The Williamsville, NY., native won the 2019 Calder Cup with the Charlotte Checkers and 2022 Calder Cup with the Chicago Wolves.
In 527 career AHL games with the Barracuda, Charlotte Checkers, San Diego Gulls, Chicago Wolves, and Coachella Valley Firebirds, Poturalski has recorded 161 goals and 493 points.
He sits just outside the top 100 on the AHL all-time scoring list.
Poturalski has played nine career NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes, Seattle Kraken, and San Jose Sharks and recorded three assists.
