Stars first-round pick lead AHL in points this season

Dallas Stars' 2020 first-round pick and AHL Most Valuable Player Mavrik Bourque has been recalled from the Texas Stars.

The 22-year-old Bourque was named AHL MVP earlier today after posting a league leading 77 points in 71 games.

There has been no indication that Bourque will play in Dallas' next game despite Radek Faksa and Mason Marchment leaving Game 2 against the Vegas Golden Knights due to injury.

Texas does not play until Thursday so there is time for him to spend time around the NHL squad.

Bourque has two goals and four points in two AHL playoff games, helping Texas eliminate the Manitoba Moose in their first round matchup.

With great speed and playmaking skills Bourque could make an instant impact for a Dallas team who is looking for all the offense it can find against Vegas.
